What does this do?
This program updates the system software and resolves the issue of degraded wireless network performance that may occur when using certain Wireless Access Points while Power Save Mode is enabled.
| Important Notes |
- This update application requires that you have approximately 640 KB of available memory in your CLIÉ handheld. Before installing this application, confirm that there is enough memory available.
To check the available memory in your CLIÉ handheld:
- Tap the "Home" icon.
- Tap the upper left corner of the screen. A drop-down menu is displayed with options titled Delete, Beam, Category, Info, and Copy.
- Ta"t;In"t; from the drop-down menu. Th"t;In"t; panel will appear. Please note the first line of text in this display state"t;Devic"t;
- Tap the down-arrow to the right o"t;Devic"t; and selec"t;Handhel"t;
- Ta"t;Si"t; at the bottom of the window. The second line of the panel display will sho"t;Free Space"t;
- Verify th"t;Free Spa"t; value shown is greater than 640 KB.
NOTE: If there is not 640 KB of memory available, please delete any unnecessary files or application.
- Tap the "Done" button to exit.
- During the installation of this update, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights. ™li>Make sure that Palm&t™esktop for CLIÉ™ software is installed on your PC from the installation CD-ROM supplied with your CLIÉ handheld and that the PC is configured to be able to perform a HotSy®g; operation.
- To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
- It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.

| Download and Installation Instructions |
- Navigate to the directory where to WIRELESSUPDATEFORTH55.EXE was downloaded.
- Double-click the WIRELESSUPDATEFORTH55.EXE file to begin the extraction process.
- At the "WinZip Self-Extractor - WIRELESSUPDATEFORTH55.EXE" window, click UnZip to install to the default directory listed under "Unzip to folder" or click the Browse button to navigate to the desired directory, click OK and then click UnZip. One file named "wirelessupdateforTH55.prc" will be extracted to the specified directory.
NOTE: Please make note of this directory for reference.
- At the "One file(s) unzipped successfully" message, click OK.
- Click Close to exit the "WinZip Self-Extractor - WIRELESSUPDATEFORTH55.EXE" window.
- Start the Palm Desktop for CLIÉ software.
- Click the "Install" icon. The Install tool wizard starts.
- Select the appropriate user name from the user list.
- Click "Add."
- Navigate to the location where you saved the update file in Step 6.
- Select the application file "wirelessupdateforTH55.prc" and click "Open."
- Click "Done."
- Connect your CLIÉ handheld to the computer via a USB cable.
- Perform a HotSync operation.
- After the HotSync operation finishes and you are prompted to reset your CLIÉ handheld, tap "Reset."
The installation is complete.

- Tap the down-arrow to the right o"t;Devic"t; and selec"t;Handhel"t; The internal files list will appear. Please note th"t;"t; symbol listed two lines belo"t;Handhel"t;
- Tap th"t;"t; symbol and then tap "Version" from the drop-down list. The software version for each item is displayed.
- Scroll down the list and confirm that the version numbers are as follows:

- Tap the "Done" button to exit.
