IEFix - Description
-----------------------------------

Internet Explorer Fix - is a general purpose repair utility for
Internet Explorer which repairs Internet Explorer by registering
it's core DLL files and reinstalls using the IE.INF file.

  - No longer runs System File Checker (SFC).
  - Fixes Internet Explorer App Paths registry value if set incorrectly.

  - Fixes Address bar search. Restores the ability to type in website text boxes.

(IEFix v1.3) September 19, 2004
  - Provides the user an option to skip SFC and IE.INF reinstallation.

(IEFix v1.2)
  - Fixes Symptom 4 below and facilitates setting Internet Explorer as the default.


What IEFix does?
----------------

Fixes the following symptoms:

1. Script Errors in Internet Explorer
2. When you click a hyperlink in an e-mail message or on a Web page,
or right-click a hyperlink on a Web page and then click "Open in New
Window", you may experience one or more of the following  symptoms:

      a. Nothing happens
      b. The new window may be blank
      c. You may receive a scripting error message

3. When you use the Print command or the Print Preview command in
Internet Explorer, nothing may happen.

4. Internet Explorer does prompt for the default browser check even
though the prompt is enabled in Internet Options.

5. Internet Options Advanced Tab is completely blank

6. Internet Explorer About box version info is blank

NOTE: This tool performs the following tasks:

* Registers the core Internet Explorer DLLs using Regsvr32 command:

Additonally: For Windows XP:
* Starts IE reinstallation using ie.inf method.

If the problem continues, reinstall Internet Explorer.
